Start Coaching

  • See the BEGIN HERE section below which invites you to start by expressing interest on the CONTACT FORM.

  • Let’s start by saying that coaching is NOT therapy, mentoring, or consulting. With coaching you’re the expert in your own life or business or crisis, and have the answers to your challenges. Coaches facilitate the process of discovery, new thinking and new approaches to advance your goal attainment.

  • It helps to have a meaningful goal in mind that is SMART (significant, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound) when you engage with our practice. That said, coaching can be used to find clarity on goals. You’ll review expectations of your role as a coachee or organizational client, included in the agreement you’ll sign with your coach, since you’ll be doing the work and creating your own action steps. Crisis situations will be guided through a different process that supports leadership coaching, and clients start by presenting the crisis in full.

  • Leadership coaching sessions are based on one hour, and should be at least 30 minutes to be impactful. In addition, at least 3 sessions are recommended to allow time to work through and take action on goals. Sessions with organizations and groups will vary based on their goals, crisis, and scope of work.

  • The coaching practice is virtual, with sessions by phone or Zoom. Consulting with organizations and groups may involve in-person meetings. Clients needing in-person sessions will discuss those arrangements during the intake interview.

  • Coaching can be one session (though at least 3 sessions are recommended for individuals), or have no end date. Some people consider coaching part of their ongoing support and development system, which may be supported by their employer. Some people use coaching for one project, then start another coaching project when the prior one completes. Some people might need crisis coaching every day for one week. Duration is based on individual and project needs, and dependent on the coach’s availability.

  • Leaders often need coaching and consulting expertise that supports their organization and teams. These two activities can be defined in the contract agreement.

  • Coaching can be for leaders, groups, and organizations. Coaching can take many forms such as 1) hourly sessions; 2) daily sessions for crisis situations; 3) group coaching retreats; 4) multi-day coaching intensives for leaders; 5) on-call coaching at special rates; and 6) other coaching arrangements that make the most sense for the client.

  • Yes, we have experience with high-profile clients and consider requests for coaching on a case-by-case basis.

  • Individual clients pay monthly in advance to book your sessions for a month. For example, if you have 4 sessions scheduled for February, by the end of January you should have paid for the 4 sessions. Organization clients may have different pay agreements detailed in their contract. All clients can pay with a link on the YOUR NEXT HARVEST website.

  • Simply notify the coach of your last coaching session date, and pay through your last session. Some contracts may have other agreements that affect how a coaching engagement ends.

  • Several conditions must be met to accept new clients. The coach-client relationship should be one of compatibility; we must feel able to support the client’s needs; and our schedule must make us available for working with the client. Sometimes it’s not possible to meet all of these expectations, and we are not able to accommodate a customer’s request.

  • Coaching and consultation start date and duration depends on the context and urgency of your engagement, and the coach’s scheduling availability.
