    CHALLENGE— As Conversations Across The Aisle moves into its fourth year of existence, it has been a constant struggle to balance our aggressive growth goals with the demands of program delivery, operations, financial management, marketing, and development.

    COMMUNITY MEDIATION DC

    CHALLENGE— After a leadership transition, Community Mediation DC was at a critical inflection point where we needed to transition to a structured, sustainable roadmap for the future. We were grappling with how to effectively scale our conflict resolution services in the community, schools, and at DC Jail while addressing staff capacity and navigating funding uncertainty from traditional sources.

    PATH— Through our highly collaborative work with YNH, CMDC successfully harmonized the voices of our board, staff, and community to finalize clear strategic priorities for 2026: enhancing volunteer engagement, stabilizing our funding through diverse streams, and strengthening our operational systems. We now have a concrete action roadmap with measurable success factors that ensure everyone in DC continues to have access to high-quality, collaborative mediation.

As Founder, Deirdre Bagley spent several decades as CEO and COO for education-focused social enterprises locally, nationally, and internationally, from K-12 to higher education; managed programs in computer science and environmental advocacy; and consulted on leadership development, training, and strategic planning. With that experience and International Coaching Federation (ICF) executive coach certification, Deirdre consults and coaches leaders to embrace and glide over their next big hurdle to activate their futures with resilience for the harvest ahead.
